Q: What is Mellow-Tone™
A: Mellow-Tone™ is a digestible strip with the active ingredient
melatonin. Melatonin is a hormone produced by the pineal gland in
the brain. As we age, the production of melatonin naturally decreases.
Mellow-Tone™ replaces the insufficient levels of melatonin allowing
the support of natural sleep patterns. Mellow-Tone™ is a non-narcotic,
non-addictive sleep-aid.
Q: What are the most common side effects?
A: The most common side effects of Mellow-Tone™ can be a headache
and morning grogginess, although rarely reported when dosing is proper.
Q: Can I take Mellow-Tone™ if I am taking other
medications?
A: Before taking any other drug, ask your doctor or pharmacist about
possible interactions with Mellow-Tone. Never drink alcohol while
taking Mellow-Tone or any other sleep aid. Mellow-Tone is not recommended
for those taking antidepressant fluoxetine or the blood thinner Warfain.
Q: Can I take Mellow-Tone™ if I am pregnant?
A: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant
or nursing women.
Therefore Mellow-Tone™ is not advised for
nursing or pregnant women.
Q: I’m an adult over 65 years of age who has
insomnia. Will Mellow-Tone™ help me?
A: Yes, Mellow-Tone™ should work for you. Start by taking one digestible
strip the first night, if you don’t sleep the whole night, increase
the dose to 2 strips the next night.
Q: How long can I take Mellow-Tone™?
A: The active ingredient in Mellow-Tone™ is melatonin. In clinical
studies, long term use of low doses of melatonin
(2-5mg) have not shown to have any negative
effect on the body or any of its systems. Mellow-Tone™ can be taken
as long as needed, keeping in mind, that Mellow-Tone™ is only to
be taken 5 nights per week max to avoid receptor site saturation.

Q: How can I use Mellow-Tone™ properly?
A: Always follow your doctor’s instructions. Place the Mellow-Tone™
digestible strip on your tongue and press the strip to the roof of
your mouth. Allow 2-5 minutes for the Mellow-Tone™ digestible strip
to dissolve. Dosing may vary for different individuals. Start by
taking one strip, if you feel that one strip is to strong you may
tear or cut the strip in half. On the other hand, if one strip is
not enough, you may increase the dose to 2 strips.
Q: Is there anything special that my doctor should know
before he recommends Mellow-Tone™?
A: Be sure to tell your doctor if you:
- Suffer from seizures
- Drink alcohol
- Have a history of alcohol or drug dependency
- Are pregnant or breast-feeding
- Taking antidepressants or blood thinners

with food?
A: Yes, you may take Mellow-Tone after a meal.
